Tax and Other Information About Your Donation

Thank you very much for your donation.

Donations to the Help Missy Fund are made directly on the behalf of Michelle (Erbesfield) Billingsley (Missy). The fund is managed solely by her father, Jerry A. Erbesfield, who also maintains this website. No funds are invested and no administrative fees, salaries or other costs of operation of the website or fund whatsoever are deducted from the fund other than the nominal credit card servicing fees associated with the donations made through this website. Otherwise, 100 percent of your donated proceeds from the fund go directly to Missy to help offset the medical expenses and lost income caused by this terrible disease.

Your donation is made on the behalf of a single individual, not to a charitable organization covered under the Georgia Charitable Solicitations Act, a 501c Charitable Trust nonprofit organization or a tax exempt entity registered with the IRS.

Donations made by you to the Help Missy Fund are not taxable to Missy (up to a $12,000 donation from any one individual), further increasing the value of your donation to her.  While donations are greatly appreciated and completely legitimate, they do not qualify as tax exempt for the person making the donation. Your donation will simply will be a gift from your heart to help save a very special young woman’s life and to assist her and her immediate family with the necessary day to day household living expenses.

Through an exemption in the provisions of the GEORGIA CHARITABLE SOLICITATIONS ACT OF 1988, AS AMENDED, and as confirmed by the Secretary of State's office, donations to the Help Missy Fund are in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and are permitted on the behalf of an individual person in the manner done for the Help Missy Fund, as quoted from the following paragraph in the Act::

"Organizations exempt from registration under the Act include named individuals, persons requesting any contributions for the relief of any other individual who is specified by name at the time of the solicitation if all of the contributions collected, without any deductions whatsoever are turned over to the named beneficiary. If contributions exceed $5,000.00, a written accounting of funds may be required.

Thank you!
